Minted Ingots

Valcambi has for many years been one of the world's largest manufacturers of cast bars and minted ingots. We produced the world's first one ounce minted ingot. For almost 40 years Valcambi has been and still is the sole manufacturer of precious metal bars for Credit Suisse.

Whenever you see this on a bar or ingot together with our registered hallmark, you will know that it has been refined, assayed, and cast or minted by Valcambi.

Minted Ingots

Minted ingots (sometimes called wafers) are cut from specially prepared rolled metal sheets. The ingots have a very high quality finish and are produced in the same facility as our minted coins. A detailed list of minted ingots is available.

Our standard minted ingots show Valcambi's logo on both sides. They are accepted world-wide and can be ordered in three different package formats:

1. Security sealed in a PETG bag packed together with a cardboard certificate the size of a credit card (available only for gold ingots from 1gram to 100grams). This packaging system has been devised to provide superior protection against tampering and also offers an attractive presentation of the ingot. Click here for photogragh.
2. Sealed in a PVC bag either with a separate certificate or sealed together with a certificate. The PVC bag is the packaging standard for gold bars and ingots in the 250-500 grams range (also for platinum, palladium, and silver).
3. Valcambi can also provide custom packaging to suit clients' individual requirements.

All material produced in our foundry and minting facilities is fully certified by our laboratory and carefully inspected by our operators before shipment.

For gold, which is used as a medium of exchange in certain markets, there has been a demand for cast products from both big and small investors. Valcambi has developed several different bar standards that cover the needs of the market, and our flexibility ensures we can deliver new designs quickly to our customers.
